A National Level CME Cum Conference “GS Surgicon” Vascular Disease Update

A National Level CME Cum Conference, "GS SURGICON", VASCULAR DISEASE UPDATE was organized by Department of General Surgery, in GS Medical College Pilkhuwa, Hapur on 13th & 14th January 2023.

In this CME Senior Consultants Cum Teachers from various Medical Colleges & Hospitals from different states participated as Speakers and Chair Persons. This CME was accredited by Uttar Pradesh Medical Council, Lucknow for 3 credit hours.

On 13th January 33 posters on themes of vascular diseases were presented by Post Graduate students of various departments (Gen. Surgery, Gen. Medicine, OBS/Gyn, Orthopedics, Anesthesia, Psychiatry) from different medical Colleges. Best posters and presentations were awarded prizes and certificates of participation were given to all participants as per NMC norms.

A quiz contest on vascular diseases was held on 14th Jan in which six teams of four participants each, participated in the quiz. Winner team Participants were awarded prizes.

272 Delegates which included Doctors & PG Residents from Medical Colleges & Hospitals participated in this educational feast on various arterial and venous diseases.

The CME was inaugurated and addressed by Honourable Chief Development Officer of district Hapur, Smt. Prerna Singh IAS. She not only praised the achievements of this institution in implementation of various central and state government schemes, but also attended one full talk.

Besides that, she also expressed gratitude towards our Honourable Prime Minister of India in initiating citizens' health caring schemes like Ayushman Bharat and appreciated the role played by GS Medical College & Hospital (GSMCH). She also thanked our Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi ji in taking many initiatives for healthcare of citizens of Uttar Pradesh. She also appreciated the whole hearted participation of this institution in implementing all these schemes.

Chief Medical Officer Hapur Sh. Sunil Kumar Tyagi ji, was also very appreciative of the role of this institution in service of people.

Both these officers along with founder chairman of GSMCH Honorable Sh. Ganga Saran Sharma ji, Honourable vice chairperson Smt. Shashi Sharma ji, Secretary Dr. Ankit Sharma, Managing Director, Professor and Head of Obs/Gyn department Dr. Rupali Sharma, Dean of the Institution Professor Dr. Pardeep Garg, Medical Superintendent Professor Dr. Surender Kumar, Chairperson of this CME & Head of General Surgery department GSMCH, Professor Dr. Madhubala Gaur participated in lamp lighting ceremony of the CME. Sh. Ganga Saran Sharma Ji assured all possible efforts in selfless and wholehearted service of humanity and best possible efforts towards Medical Education.

Honorable dean Dr. Pardeep Garg elaborated the rapid pace of progress of this institution after its inception. Professor and HOD department of General Surgery Dr. Madhubala Gaur elaborated the achievements and progress of Speciality & Superspeciality level services of department of general surgery of this institution. She also expressed words of Gratitude for her Teachers who were present in Auditorium.

Dr. Sandeep Grover, clinical immunologist at Nutema hospital Meerut, dealt with various aspects of Vasculitis. Dr. Shishir, Interventional radiologist at health care imaging centre Meerut, elaborated the role of Radiological imaging in vascular diseases. Dr. Ambrish Satwik Senior Consultant, Director and Professor of Vascular Surgery, at GRIPMER institute of vascular and endovascular sciences, New Delhi, described Critical Limb Ischaemia and Diabetic Foot in two separate lectures.

Dr. Mayank Nautiyal, Head Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant Department at Max Superspeciality Hospital, Dehradun Uttarakhand, gave a very informative and interesting talk on Mesenteric Vascular Ischaemia and asserted that a very high index of suspicion is required to timely identify mesenteric ischaemia and do a salvage procedure.

Dr. Richa Kansal, Prof & Head Obs/Gyn Kalpana Chawla Medical College Karnal dealt with Post-Partum DVT. Dr Shadab Samad, Consultant Cardiologist and Director CATH Lab at GS Medical College Pilkhuwa, Hapur, gave very informative talk Pulmonary Thrombo-embolism.

A Symposium on lower limb venous diseases and varicose veins was moderated by Dr. Madhubala Gaur, HOD Department of Surgery Medical College Pilkhuwa, Hapur which was participated by Dr. Sanjay Pandey, Professor of General Surgery and Dr. Krishna Murti General Surgeon and DMS at Subharti Medical College Meerut, Dr. Shishir Consultant Interventional Radiologist, Health Care Imaging Centre, Meerut, Dr. Anuj Sharma, Professor & Head department of General Surgery, NCR Medical College, Hapur.

All Faculties of Surgery Department, Professor Mohd Dr. Aslam Khan, Professor Dr. Vishal Agarwal, Dr. Madan Goyal, Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Bhaskar Kumar, Dr. Brahmanand Lal, Dr. Lokesh Kumar, Dr Bhawani Parsad, all Senior Resident Doctors and PG Resident Doctors also to the Success of this CME. Chief Administrative Dr. Rajendra Kumar, DMS Dr. Amit Joon, Deputy Directors Mr. Ankit Vijh, Mr. Navneet supported a lot throughout CME.

Computer Operator & PA to HOD Surgery Mrs. Anuradha Sharma, Mr. Varun Singhwal (Manager) & Mr. Ravi of Digital Marketing Department, Mr. Krishna Mohan, Head of IT Department worked very hard throughout CME.
